Ramada by Wyndham Tucson

Parking was easy, and our room had two queen beds with a chair for use in the tub and shower. We booked for Christmas, just as the hotel was preparing for the Gem and Mineral show, with tents set up around about two-thirds of the property. The freeway is right there, and the people mover stops directly outside.

The lobby looked nice, and the pool seemed pleasant, though we didn’t stay long enough to look closely. What stood out most was how kind and professional the front desk team was. They understood when my daughter and I chose to leave, and I appreciated that. I expect the refund to come through this week. We were shown three rooms, and each had the same problems: they were dated and unclean, with visible stains and thick dirt and dust in several spots. The staff really did try to help, but we canceled and moved to the Hampton Inn. The rooms need serious cleaning and updating.

The spacious rooms give you room to work, move around, and breathe, and the grounds are clearly cared for. Staff treat you like a person rather than a room number. On my first stay, Mariah asked what I was looking for and actually listened, then pointed me toward plantbased restaurants, nightlife that felt curated instead of chaotic, and even nail salons. That turned a work trip into a way to find my bearings in the local culture. The women in management checked that I felt comfortable and safe, and even the maintenance team asked if I was okay. That kind of care is what made this my Tucson home base. This was my second visit, and I chose this place over all the other options in Tucson again, even though I travel a lot. It’s about 15 minutes from the airport, with supermarkets, elevated dining, and authentic local spots nearby. The convenience is great, but it’s the people that keep bringing me back. RAMADA INN TUCSON is the only place I stay, and I mean that. My choice twice now, and every time after.

The breakfast was just okay, and seeing the coffee brought out from the kitchen in a plastic pitcher made me doubt how much was being done properly. The room itself was filthy and smelled awful. The curtains didn’t block the bright porch light, so we had trouble sleeping, and they looked like they’d never been cleaned. There were old stickers and marks on the ceiling, plus a huge burn hole in the carpet. The light fixture was broken, too. No one at the front desk came out to greet us when we arrived. I pointed out a spill in the lobby, came back later, and it was still there. 1/10, I will not return.
