The staff were friendly, attentive, and eager to help, and the pools were well cared for without feeling crowded. Along with the main pool, there’s a children’s pool, an adult pool, and a surprisingly good water slide. The resort feels huge, but we never felt crowded or too close to neighbors. It’s set in a beautiful desert landscape that feels like a private resort, yet Tucson restaurants and shopping are just minutes away. We didn’t try the on-site restaurants because so many places we wanted to visit were nearby, and we ate every meal off-site. All in all, a great experience. If I’m back in the area, I’ll stay here.

We stayed six nights at the Westin La Paloma and felt very well looked after. Traveling with a baby can be hard, but the staff made it easy and enjoyable. They provided high chairs and a pack n play for bedtime, and everyone we met was kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Our room was spotless, with towels and water bottles replenished daily. The resort was clean and beautifully maintained, with lots of relaxing and fun things to do. The views were stunning, and it felt easy to unwind here. I highly recommend it!

The food was delicious, and the wait staff were super attentive. The ball was in a large room decorated for the occasion, and the speakers could be heard clearly even with people talking during the presentation. Outside, soft live music left room for conversation, and there was a smores bar. I indulged in two, after one marshmallow fell into the fire. I came for dinner and the American Heart Association Heart and Stroke Ball, not to stay in a room, so this review is about the dinner and aesthetics at Westin La Paloma. The terrace view of the town lights was lovely and romantic. Walking into the ball felt like red carpet service, and I loved every minute.

The patio view had me so mesmerized that I forgot to take pictures of the room. The property is beautiful and the view is unmatched. Rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds, and there’s every amenity you might want. The on-site gym is phenomenal, probably the best hotel or resort gym I’ve ever seen.

I chose this hotel for a children’s tournament, but after this stay I just want to go home. I arrived around 8 p.m. after a two-hour drive, exhausted and expecting the room I’d reserved. As a Marriott Titanium Elite member, I’m not asking for special treatment, just the room type I paid for and basic service. The front desk associate didn’t offer a breakfast voucher until I asked, and the $15 credit was disappointing after getting $25 at the JW Marriott in Las Vegas just last week. I’d booked a King room with a Mountain View and requested a quiet corner on a high floor, but they sent me to a noisy poolside building. I left my daughter with our luggage and crossed the huge, dark, poorly lit property to get the mistake fixed. It felt like a maze when I was already exhausted. In the new room there was still no help at the bell desk with a cart. I watched a manager standing nearby do nothing while I struggled, and ended up unloading the luggage myself because I felt bad for the older staff member helping me. The room was a letdown: worn furniture, tired carpets, musty-smelling pillows, and a broken lamp that took more of my time and another tip to fix. I also spent $109 on room service that was so salty it was nearly inedible. Last year, I spent two months at a Hyatt in Korea, where the rooms were pristine and service was flawless without constant tipping. That made this stay feel even more unprofessional. Look at the attached photo, this is what they call their "best view." I won’t stay here again.
