Days Inn by Wyndham Tucumcari

The location was new to us since we're from the east side, but it turned out to be a good stop. The hotel may not look like much from the outside, so don't judge it by its cover. We've stayed in plenty of places, and this was one of the most affordable and cleanest. The staff were helpful and nice, the room was very clean, and I could tell the carpets had been shampooed. We'd recommend it and stop again if we ever deliver this far west.

I come through Tucumcari often for family, so having an affordable, dependable place matters. This is one of the two hotels I usually choose. It's quiet despite being right off the highway, and the staff are always sweet to us. The rooms stay clean and comfortable, pets are welcome, and the shower pressure feels great after a long drive. Breakfast has waffles, eggs, sausage, home-style potatoes, and the usual continental choices. I don't have to stop for fast food since they have all the basics my young kiddo will eat.

I first gave this hotel a very favorable review because it's a great bargain for a quick overnight stay. But I've had a frustrating time trying to get back my prescription glasses, which I realized I'd left behind after getting home to Arizona. I called several times the next morning before someone answered. They confirmed the glasses had been found, and the clerk said she'd give them to Sarah, the manager, to mail back. She took my details, including my credit card information for postage. That was 10 days ago, and there's still no shipping charge on my credit statement. It took three days of calls to reach anyone again. Diane, the clerk, said she'd given the package to Sarah and gave me Sarah's direct number. Calls went to a recording saying there was no mailbox set up. I sent several texts that showed as delivered, but got no reply. I'll keep trying and hope this negative review gets someone's attention.

Nothing fancy, but it wasn't a bad place to stay for the reasonable price, and it's easy to reach from the highway. The small room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and it had what we needed. I had to ask for a bar of soap, and it was odd that there was no shower curtain. At check-in I asked for coffee creamer and the desk said they didn't have any, but there it was at breakfast the next morning. Breakfast had no forks. The clerk at the desk in the morning was friendly.
