Best Western Plus Woodland Hills Hotel & Suites

The reviews had me worried before we arrived, but our 2-night stay turned out fine. Our room was clean, and they cleaned it again the morning after our first night. I couldn’t work out the shower at first, but someone came right up after I called and showed us how it worked. The staff stayed friendly and helpful, even when I was being a little difficult. There was remodeling underway, but it didn’t bother us. Breakfast was decent, not top of the line, but good. The marijuana smell was pretty strong in a few spots, though that seemed to come from other guests, not the hotel. I’d give them a chance despite the negative reviews.

The rooms are really nice, and I loved the indoor pool. Breakfast was excellent, just be sure to get there before it closes at 9 am. The location worked great for the places I needed to be in Tulsa. Staff could’ve been a little friendlier and more helpful.

The place smelled of smoke and weed, and people were drinking and vaping around the pool. We left soon after arriving, but when I called the next morning they wouldn’t refund my money. In the room there was food on the floor, dead bugs, and what looked like blood and other debris on the sheets. Bed bugs, maybe? I’d never stay here again, and wouldn’t be surprised if it shut down. I guess Mary needed my $70 bucks more than I did.

My reservation was for Monday-Thursday nights, with a stay through Friday. The hotel looked a bit dingy and out of date, though breakfast was pretty good each morning, with waffles, eggs, sausage and potatoes. Things were uneventful until Thursday. I packed my belongings into my vehicle because I needed them at work, and housekeeping apparently checked me out during the day because the room was empty, despite my reservation. When I got back from work at 4pm, my key still worked. I went to dinner around 9pm, and it didn’t work when I returned. The front desk told me I’d been checked out. I wasn’t upset yet, and asked the clerk to retrieve my things from the room and put me in another one. He wouldn’t go bother the guests in the other room. There was no manager at the hotel, and none would be there until the next day, so I asked for a room for the night and planned to speak with one in the morning. A different person was at the desk then. She wasn’t the manager either, and again they refused to knock and get my things so I could head home. When I asked her to call the manager, she refused. I was starting to get upset, though I’d tried to stay calm, and had to leave before I lost my cool. I left my name and number for a call. I missed the hotel’s call while driving, then called back after I got home. They said they’d retrieved my things and would hold them for me to pick up. I told the young woman I wasn’t driving 4hrs back and they needed to ship them, since this wasn’t my fault. She refused and said my things would be there when I came back. I asked for the manager again and was told there still wasn’t one on duty, and that the manager wouldn’t ship them either. I went through the roof and insisted they send my belongings, then asked for a manager to call me. It was 4pm Friday and I still hadn’t heard from one. I’ll call soon. I recommend avoiding this hotel because of the lack of customer service.
