Mr. Trent surprised us at our 3:30 a.m. checkout with two bags, each with water, fruit, and a muffin, plus a note thanking us for staying. Such a thoughtful gesture, and we enjoyed the snacks on our flight back to NH. We’ll definitely stay again. We were there April 25 through May 4 in room 224. The beds were very comfortable, the room was clean, and breakfast was delicious. Staff were professional, kind, and accommodating, especially Mr. Jason Trent and Mr. Marvin Bizzell. Housekeeping did a great job, though the room wasn’t cleaned on the last two nights, which was okay. I think circumstances outside their control may have caused that. It seemed like staffing might not be enough during the big influx of guests on the weekend, but Mr. Trent and Mr. Bizzell did their best in a difficult situation. We did need to renew our key cards several times; staff apologized and said the machine was being replaced.
I needed a room across from the hospital, and booking was easy. The woman at the front desk who checked me in was wonderful. I don’t like firm beds, so these suited me perfectly. The bathroom and shower were clean and spacious, with lots of hot water. The A/C worked well and I could adjust it. The price didn’t hurt too much.
Jason at the front desk was great, very personable and quick getting me checked in even though it was late. There’s food and convenience stores not far away, and breakfast had a good selection.
Breakfast was a letdown. By 8:45 a.m. there wasn’t much left, even though it runs from 7 to 10 on weekends, and the bagels were incredibly hard. We were woken by a phone call at 7 a.m. too. In the room, the shower curtain was too short and water got everywhere, and the TV only worked on one channel. The check-in was quick and the front desk woman was nice, but the keys didn’t work when we reached the room. We got them redone, went out, and found they had stopped working again when we returned. Glad it was just a one-night stay, one of the worst Fairfields we’ve been to.
I’ve stayed at nearly a thousand Marriott properties as a Titanium member, and this was my worst experience. Staff removed my reservation, canceled my extended checkout, and called the police. One staff member said it was due to a conflict of interest, but when I asked what we’d done or what the conflict was, she said she didn’t have to tell me. I’d never experienced anything like it. I had no interaction with staff beforehand, so I have no idea why we were kicked out. I don’t want to assume discrimination, but at this point, what else could it be?
