AmericInn Two Harbors

We picked this as a good base for our waterfall outings, and spent most of our time away from the room. The hotel is in a nice spot in Two Harbors, though it isn't right by the lake. Breakfast was hot, with eggs, sausage, waffles, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, orange and apple juice, and coffee. The laundry was available, but we didn't use it, and it takes quarters.

The front desk person was pleasant, but the rest of the stay was disappointing. We were looking forward to the pool, only to find it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time, and the air hockey table beside it didn't work properly. Our room was below average too, with a flickering restroom light and bedding that looked old and bumpy. Given the price, I expected a much better stay. The room was under my boyfriend's name, and we learned to plan ahead so we can avoid this kind of experience.

They let us check in early, which made changing and getting ready for snowmobiling much easier. The trail starts right from the parking lot, so the location worked really well. The staff were great with us and the place felt family friendly. We booked Sunday to Monday. It's a small hotel without an elevator, but they told us that when we reserved by phone.

The room was spotless and had some nice little extras you don't usually get. The woman at the desk was lovely and made me feel welcome, with real care. I'd absolutely stay here again.
