Scottish inns

The rooms have an older, nostalgic feel, but ours was clean. The TV didn't work at first, though the new owners fixed it within five minutes after we asked, and we were soon watching Harry Potter. They'd only owned the place for about a month, so not everything was perfect. What really mattered was how kind they were when my husband and I got stranded in Georgia after the car we'd come to get for our daughter had transmission trouble. A Champs driver, the same man who had helped us with that car in Tampa fl, gave us a ride to the hotel. The owner then drove us about 20 minutes to a U-Haul location because we needed a rental. The U-Haul place gave us trouble, but the folks at the Scottish inn were so friendly and helpful. People with hearts like that feel rare these days. I'm forever thankful. If I go back to Georgia, I'll stay with them again. As I understand it, earlier reviews were about the previous owners.

We'd driven a long way toward Florida and were exhausted, so my family and I thought we'd stop for the night. As soon as we got out of the car with the kids, five men appeared in front of the hotel from nowhere. The whole situation felt wrong. The room was awful too. It smelled as if it had been sprayed with chloroform, and I felt unwell right after walking in. We went straight back to the desk and said we'd rather keep driving. They gave me a refund receipt that made it look like the money had been returned, but it never was. I only gave this place one star so I could post a review. Please stay safe and don't stay here.

The innkeeper clearly takes good care of the property. My room and bathroom were immaculate, and although some rooms are older, there are newer buildings too. I chose the older section so I could be near the office, and it suited me fine. I booked through Expedia, one key, and the hotel had my reservation right away. Major hotels often have trouble finding my name, so that was a pleasant surprise. I'd recommend it for a quick stop off the freeway.

I found a used bar of soap and bugs crawling out of the TV. Disgusting. After I told the front desk, someone came into the room to check, but they offered no compensation. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're homeless.
