Sleep Inn & Suites Marshall - University Area

We didn’t notice the smell mentioned in some reviews from a few months earlier. The pool was fantastic, warm and very clean. Breakfast had lots of good options. My family booked three other rooms, all in good condition. Our room was great too, aside from a peeled-off edge on the desk. The stay was better than the nearby competition.

We needed somewhere to stay at short notice for an event down in boyd. I travel a lot, and this was probably one of the best beds I’ve slept in. A comfortable bed is one of the most important things for me in a hotel, and this one really tops my list.

The breakfast was a bit underwhelming, though I guess that’s what you expect from a two-star hotel. I didn’t use any of the amenities. That evening the room stayed quiet and comfortable, and I really liked the soft, comfortable sheets and the great bed. The room was clean and nicely decorated, with a small couch that was handy for watching TV or getting some work done. At check-in, the front desk attendant was friendly and efficient and explained the hotel details. He mentioned complimentary soup and cookies, which seemed a little odd when it was around 85 degrees, but I appreciated the gesture. This is definitely one of the better, maybe the best, hotels in Marshall. I’ll return.

The room was spacious and quiet, and I liked the walk-in shower. The AC was amazing, you can turn it down to 46 degrees if you like it really cold. The beds were good for the price, though not great. Breakfast was generous and tasted amazing. There was also free curry in the lobby during the day, a huge bonus. I don’t know if that was just while I was there or if it’s always available.
