I needed a last-minute room while visiting family for New Years, and it was affordable, mostly clean, and seemed family owned. You get what you pay for. I didn’t try the breakfast. The building badly needs an update. The interiors are dark and poorly lit, and everything I saw showed wear, from the light fixtures and mini fridge to the chair, walls, and cabinets. The cabinets and walls needed paint. There was a jacuzzi tub with jets, but it looked over 20 years old and second-hand. The floors were clean, but sound carried easily through the walls and doors. On my second night I could hear every breathy detail of the lustful activity across the hall. The TV had a big crack, and the room decor left some very strange empty spaces.

The room had broken outlets, lights that didn’t work, paper-thin walls, and beds as hard as rocks. Dogs barking and kids screaming made it hard to rest. The best distraction was the TV. The hotel felt safe, but $70 a night was too much for what you get. The front desk agent was helpful and check-in was easy. There’s a pool, which is nice, but the hot tub was drained during our stay. Breakfast was offered, though the choices were limited: waffles my son didn’t like, cereal with no bowls, and delicious yogurt. Walking in, you’re met with the smell of cigarettes and marijuana.

The staff were helpful and accommodating, the room was clean, and all the amenities worked. Breakfast was decent each morning, and the prices were very reasonable. There’s a grocery store across the street, an Arby’s right behind, and a gas station nearby. My only gripe is that the pet fee gets charged again every night of your stay.

My original flight was oversold, and I didn’t want to spend four hours at the airport, so I stayed here. It’s about a 15-minute drive from the airport. The room was clean, and the hotel did the job for a quick layover. There are lots of strict rules that made the stay feel less welcoming. They take a $50 deposit and return it only after a staff inspection, and they automatically keep it if a towel gets stained. If you’re expecting guests, you have to give their names and sign extra paperwork after they copy your ID. All those rules and extra steps made things less comfortable than they should’ve been.
