The rooms were nice and the beds were big, but the night manager was so rude. We came back from our convention, and while one of us was speaking at a normal volume, he talked down to us and said we couldn't talk that loudly at that hour. He warned that one complaint would get our whole group thrown out. There were 40 college students in the group, and people in nearby rooms were awake too. After that, we were afraid to even talk in our own rooms past 10 pm. Another person in our group went to the desk for a key to a different room, and the front desk handed it over without asking for ID or anything. That felt very dangerous. The night manager needs to get off his high horse and stop power tripping.

We had our dog with us, and the staff put us in a room near an exit so it was easy to take him in and out. Everyone was really friendly, and the room was clean and nice. The location is great, close to everything, whether you're visiting UIUC or in the Champaign area for something else.

I arrived at 11:30 at night after a very long drive, and it took me about two hours to get to bed. Then housekeeping knocked at 8:30 am, maybe because they wanted to head home early. I'm really unhappy about that. Still, it's good value. I've stayed twice before without any problems, so I'm giving it three stars instead of one.

The breakfast was what I expected, and there was plenty of room in the dining area. The food itself wasn't anything special. It did seem like the franchise leaves the hotel understaffed. My room was in pleasant condition, with a made bed, fresh linen, a well-supplied bathroom, and appliances that worked as they should. I was driving down the Interstate during Tropical Storm Beryl and stopped at the Best Western at the last minute. I checked whether there was a vacancy and was helped right away with a room for the night. The service started off great. All in all, not a bad stay.

Clean, comfortable rest and a warm welcome. I really enjoyed the beautiful Larry Kanfer photos throughout the hotel. An excellent stay all around.
