The staff were excellent and made sure I could check in early, which I appreciated. The exterior and lobby also made a very nice first impression. But the room was unacceptable for $209 a night. Its furniture was in terrible shape, the walls were covered in scratches and black marks, and the wall beside the bed looked as if soda had spilled on it and never been cleaned. I expected a much cleaner, better-maintained room. The gap between that first impression and the room itself made the stay very disappointing.

The pool temperature was comfortable, and the hot tub was very spacious. The rooms were fine, though I wouldn't call them four-star accommodations. What made the pool area frustrating was how often the posted rules were ignored: kids screamed, very young children swam in the hot tub, and others played catch and used squirt guns. Their parents weren't watching, let alone in the hot tub with them. I understand the hotel doesn't have a lifeguard on duty during pool hours, but staff came in, saw the rule-breaking, and did nothing.

It's a beautiful property, and we used to love the breakfast, front desk team, and bar staff. Josh at the bar was memorable, though I understand he's gone now. We stayed at the Revel several times before leaving because its service had declined over the past couple of years. Now the Revel GM oversees both properties, and it feels like they let the wrong person go. I come for business and for pleasure with the Tin Dusters car show group. I asked for the former GM, whom I knew from my time in my hometown, and was told he was no longer there. I asked to speak with the new manager; they took my number and said he'd call, but three days passed without a word. The salesperson who used to help us is apparently gone as well. We'll take our group elsewhere. It's sad when someone who cares gets replaced by someone who doesn't. We can pay less elsewhere for the same now-diminished service. Too bad.

The staff in the breakfast room were welcoming and kept the food stocked and the area clean. Breakfast was quite good, a step above the usual included hotel meal without being fancy. The pool was a pleasant surprise too: large, clean, with lots of seating, a roomy hot tub, and beautiful tile. Staff replenished the towels, and they politely asked children to leave when adult-only swimming began at 10pm. We had a clean, spacious Junior suite overlooking the pool. It was a little odd not to have an exterior window, but for one night it was fine. The kids loved having easy access to the pool from our room.

Room service barely happened. They left towels and went, without doing any proper cleaning. The room itself was neglected, with visible dirt on the floor and in the corners, and a spider crawling around, as shown in the photo. It felt unsettling rather than restful. The lack of cleanliness and basic care was shocking. This was one of my worst hotel experiences, and even one star feels generous. At best, it seemed like a two-star place pretending to be more. I can't recommend it, especially for families. Save your money, time, and peace of mind for a better option.
