Alpine Lodge Resort

We stayed in the cabin above the office, and the view was amazing. My best friend and I brought our kids for spring break, and we all loved the change of scenery. It was too chilly for the pool in late March, but the kids keep asking when we can return. We were glad to be away from the middle of town, and hope to visit again before we move out of state.

Silver Dollar City was an easy trip from Alpine Lodge, and we could get there without dealing with the long entry lines. But the best part for us was the time on Table Rock Lake, swimming and fishing by the dock, renting the Pontoon for a day, then grilling and having coffee on the little deck. The A frames were simple and cozy, with enough room for breakfast and a good night's sleep. Back in the 90s and early 2000s, my wife, our 2 daughters, and I came here year after year. We took other trips, including Maine, California, and Vancouver, but summer didn't feel complete until we'd spent at least a week at Alpine Lodge in Branson. Dorothy and her husband kept the place clean and always did more than we expected. I still remember Dorothy's boat rental briefing: she'd lift the motor out of the water and remind us to bring it back with a nice clean propeller. It's been over 15 years since our last stay, but my daughters, now grown with families of their own, still talk about those visits. I'm glad Alpine Lodge is still going strong. For families looking for an affordable adventure, the rustic, clean cabins near Table Rock Lake, Silver Dollar City, and Branson's other attractions can make for lasting vacation memories.

We called Alpine Lodge on a last-minute trip to Branson and were lucky enough to get their final cabin. We wanted somewhere quieter, away from the commercial bustle of the main strip, and this was just what we needed. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and well kept, with a convenient location for getting around. Booking was easy, and we appreciated how accommodating everyone was. We'll be back.

The listing makes it sound like you're right on the shores of Table Rock, but zoom in on the red circle in picture 1. Maybe, with the sun just right, a few rays bounce off the lake through the trees. That's about what you can see. There are plenty of issues inside, too. The back door has a lock but no deadbolt. The front handle lock doesn't stop the A/C from leaking out, so you need to wedge a rug under the door. The bathroom vent stays open as well. The dresser looks nice, but its drawers won't stay shut, even with furniture pads under it. The hot water was so hot that my coffee at 5 a.m. was still warmer, and the shower water smelled coppery and tasted that way too. The toilet tank has enough sediment that you have to hold the flush until all the water drains or it keeps filling. Two window units set to 64 and 60 couldn't get the room below 80, unless you bring your own fans to circulate the air. I've put this in the same folder as EAST ST LOUIS. I've been there, and have no reason to go back. As we packed to leave, we read other reviews and saw rude replies from the owner to customers. Be careful. We fully expect extra charges to line the owner's pockets.
