Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort

We had to change the scope of a nearby job unexpectedly, and I was expecting a difficult refund conversation. The front desk woman was especially kind, patient, and helpful, and made the whole thing feel easy. The team handled it professionally, and the refund was quick and fair, with no runaround. They treated us well when our plans changed. Highly recommend!

That free training lesson was amazing, the quality really stood out. But the food was bad, and the rewards setup felt confusing and scammy. I booked the Hotel instead of the Lodge at twice the price because I hoped to get the 2 Lift Tickets. I even used AI to help check, and neither of us spotted the fine print they hide. We didn’t get the Lift Tickets. The credit was similar: we booked for 2 days, but the reward credit only lasted through the first day. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Having all the runs come back to roughly the same base made it easier to keep our family together. The beginner carpet is fun, and the suggested next step is the quad chair on the far right side of the hill. I liked that it has a safety bar for my kids. The attendants slowed the chair when my younger ones needed it, and everyone we met seemed friendly and glad to be there. We chose this small resort partly because kids ski free, adult tickets are affordable, especially when bought ahead, and our five skiing kids made that a big deal. We brought used skis and our own gear to keep costs down. We stayed in a nearby rental house and didn’t eat the resort food. I’ve heard some of the accommodations are basically a step up from camping.

We might try Sipapu again in a year with more snow. Skiing was okay, but the triple chair made me nervous as a mom since it has no pull-down bar. We’d been told rentals for the kids would be $25, then it came to $50 each when we went to rent. We had an easy check-in and had reserved a hotel room. The room was decent, though the beds were hard as rocks and the tub didn’t drain right. There’s no AC or fans, so bring your own if you tend to get hot. I called for the WiFi password so we could use our device with the TV, but the receptionist didn’t know it. They said we’d need to buy their Roku stick for TV, so we used our own hotspot instead. If you need dinner, bring it or order pickup before 5, since the cafe closes then.
