Cedar at Streamside, a VRI Resort

We booked through an RCI exchange and had a clean one-bedroom with everything we needed. The pull-out bed was the most comfortable one I’ve ever slept on, and nearby grocery stores were handy. The ski shuttle was always on time, and the pool, hot tub, and steam rooms were what you’d expect. There are a lot of stairs, especially after a day on the slopes. We knew that beforehand, so it wasn’t a surprise, but it’s worth keeping in mind.

The firewood is down at the bottom of the stairs, which is a pain when you’re staying in an upper-floor condo. From the parking area there are 96 steps up to the unit. You can skip 36 by taking an elevator in another building and crossing a walkway, but carrying a week’s worth of luggage and groceries up the remaining 60 is still a lot. No Sherpas provided!

After a full day in Vail, the pool, hot tubs, and game rooms were relaxing and fun. The area is beautiful, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Our room was just right, with a fully equipped kitchen, a huge dining table, a wood fireplace with a starter brick, and beds for 7.

The room looked beautiful, but it was hot in the middle of summer when we arrived, so I tried turning on what I thought was the A/C. When it didn’t work, I called and was told there’s no A/C in the rooms, only fans, and that we should open the windows. I paid $500.00 for two nights for my family’s first trip to Colorado, and I wasn’t happy about that. We won’t stay here again or recommend it.
