Sleep Inn & Suites Valdosta Mall Area

Diane, who I believe is the general manager, stayed with an elderly woman who was struggling and helped her right through to when she left. The owner and his sons were also on site the whole time I was there. This is a family run place with big, well-kept rooms and amazing staff. I've never had better service or a better experience.

We never got our money back. The hotel told us to call a “third party” booking number, but the number they gave us turned out to be Sleep Inn itself. We had to file a chargeback, and the hotel told our bank we'd stayed there when we hadn't. Now the bank wants proof that we stayed at the Hampton Inn for three days over Thanksgiving. We're still out the money and dealing with stress we shouldn't have had to face because of their dishonesty. We couldn't stay at the Sleep Inn in Valdosta, Georgia. As soon as we walked in, the foul, heavy smell was so overwhelming we could barely breathe. They sprayed air freshener instead of fixing it, which made the place even worse and completely unlivable. We asked for a refund and immediately got a hard time, then were told everything was “fine.” The smell alone was unbearable, and what happened with the refund and the claim that we stayed there was unacceptable. The place was disgusting, filthy, and shady. Nobody should have to fight this hard for their money back after refusing to stay because of unsafe conditions. Do not ever stay here. I'd give it -500 stars if I could.

The king suite's jacuzzi tub was really nice, just what I wanted after a long motorcycle ride. The room was clean and nice, though a bit worn, and the bed and air conditioning were both very comfortable. I'll come back.

Customer service was excellent and everything else was satisfactory. The lot made me uneasy, though, with people hanging around the building in the morning and sometimes at night. At first the hotel smelled fresh and looked tidy, but on closer inspection the bathroom needed a deeper clean and I found a few stains on the sheets. Better linens and more attention to cleaning would help. It feels like a solid 3-star place with potential to give guests a much better experience.
