Residence Inn by Marriott Dayton Vandalia

This Residence Inn put real thought into breakfast, and I appreciated the gluten-free choices. They were useful options, not just a token gesture. The flavored coffee syrups were a nice touch and made mornings feel a little less like survival mode. Too many hotel chains cut corners with sad powdered eggs and the bare minimum, so it was refreshing to find a location still making an effort to offer quality. Well done.

I slept like a baby and unfortunately missed the complimentary breakfast. Everything was spotless, the bed was really comfortable, and everyone was so nice. My company booked me here for one night, and I had such a good experience that I wish I could have stayed longer. 10/10 recommend, and I don’t give those out easily!

The staff were incredibly accommodating, and the two-bedroom suite’s setup was hard to beat. We hope to stay here again when we pass through town. Thanks for making our road trip a positive experience.

Our first night was canceled by email at 12:46 p.m. on the day we were due to check in at 3. The room itself was clean and the rest of the staff were competent, so without the management issue I’d stay again. But management disregarded my Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status, which should have meant the property paid for our room at the hotel we were relocated to. I was told, “this just happens sometimes.” After two calls and an email, the managers still didn’t return my call with the promised resolution. Their poor communication and follow-up led me to open a complaint ticket directly with Marriott Bonvoy. If you need a reliable reservation in the Dayton area, look elsewhere.
