Four Points Sheraton Ventura

The harbor being so close helps make up for some of the rough edges here. The lobby and guest rooms seem to have had a lot of remodeling, which was nice to see, though our room still needed work. Its bathroom was oddly laid out, with a huge area for the tub, shower, and toilet, and some fixtures seemed due for replacement. The grounds weren't in great shape, but they weren't terrible either. The location is the strongest part of the hotel.

Free coffee in the lobby was a nice touch, and breakfast was quick, affordable, and delicious. The staff were friendly, and the harbor is a lovely spot for evening walks. Still, we’re giving Four Points by Sheraton Ventura Harbor 3 stars because housekeeping never properly took care of our room. We put the service tag out on the first day, but nobody came the next day. After calling the front desk three times, all housekeeping did was bring clean towels and take away the used ones. The beds weren’t made, the sheets weren’t changed, the floor wasn’t vacuumed, and the trash stayed there. Mistakes happen, but it was surprising that nothing got sorted out after several calls. The place also feels dated. Our faucet squeaked, and the air conditioner was old and loud. It could have been a much better stay if the basic cleaning had been handled.

The room was comfy and clean, and the staff were relaxed and helpful. I was really happy with my choice after spending a few days at the Four Points Ventura Harbor. Harbor Village shops and restaurants are just a short walk away, and the whole place felt relaxing. Great value if you want to stay right by the water. Highly recommend it!

At $191 a night, I expected more. Parking costs $12, and breakfast isn't included, either. The room and bathroom both feel very outdated, and the shower floor had a big gray line that made it look dirty. The A/C unit seems straight out of the 80s, with no real way to set the temperature. I've stayed in better motels. This doesn't live up to the Marriott brand, so I'd look elsewhere.
