The gentleman who checked me in was very kind and made a point of helping me feel comfortable traveling alone. My room was clean, cute, and practical, with a great bed, a small fridge, and an in-room safe. It was the closest room to the street, but the soundproofing was good and, with my sound machine, I heard nothing. I'm a local returning to visit friends, and this affordable motel was just right. It's not in the best part of town, but the best of Ventura is only a few minutes away by car. I'll be back. There isn't coffee on site, so I drove a few minutes to Starbucks. I'd rather pay for coffee than an expensive hotel room. There's no pool either, but I wasn't interested in one.

The hotel was full, but I didn't hear a peep all night. The owner was friendly and checked that we were enjoying our stay. We found a really delicious restaurant for breakfast within walking distance. The place was cute and clean, and the bed was soft and comfortable. I'd recommend staying here!

A big thanks to the receptionist who greeted us very late. He was kind and helpful. The hotel has nice decor and a fair price, and it's not bad overall, but the shower wasn't clean. There were quite a few hairs in it. We arrived late and didn't bring it up, so maybe they could have fixed it, but the cleaning staff should pay closer attention.

I wanted to love this motel and make it a regular choice, but the cancellation policy changed that. My dive trip on the specter dive boat was canceled because of weather. The boat offered credit, a new date, or a full refund. That's a business that understands repeat customers. This motel offered no compensation. It cost twice as much as the sea trip, and the way it handled the cancellation makes me less likely to consider it again. I can see there are still many rooms available for the nights I chose, and the cancellation was due to an inconvenience caused by mother nature. Offering even half off the cost of my two-night stay could have avoided this review. A little understanding would have helped build a good customer relationship. Instead, that relationship is lost at my expense, and this common, uncritical policy leaves me disappointed. I wanted to tell my friends and colleagues who dive that they should choose this place over an Airbnb because it has everything and caters to divers. That's not going to happen now, though a small amount of flexibility could still make things right.
