Days Inn Vernal

The AC didn't work, and the cord and outlet had an electrical fire that must have damaged something. The carpet hadn't been vacuumed, the pillows smelled musty, and the bathroom fan had years' worth of dirt built up. The whole room was nasty and clearly hadn't been cleaned with any care. Never coming back.

Sherry, one of the owners, came to my rescue when I was stuck waiting several hours at night for my electric car to charge. I was having trouble with the superchargers and unexpectedly needed somewhere to stay. This locally owned Days Inn had the charger I needed, and it was complimentary. The hotel was affordable, clean, nice, and well kept, and Sherry was friendly and gracious. I'll definitely stay again when I'm in town.

We were glad to see that the place looked clean and the staff seemed welcoming, and the woman who checked us in was polite. But when we got into bed, something kept poking my ear. I turned on the light and found bed bugs on my pillow. It was late, so we didn't say anything then and moved to the other bed. I barely slept, worrying there might be more, and was eager to leave in the morning. At checkout I rang the bell, and the woman came to the desk. I told her about the bugs, but she just said, “Oh I'm sorry there's nothing we can do, we spray every month.” I said bugs that size should be sprayed for every day to make sure they're gone. She was rude and didn't seem to care. I wasn't asking for a refund, just letting them know so other guests wouldn't have the same experience. I hope they deal with the problem and clean it up. Otherwise it seemed like a nice place, but the bed bugs mean we'll never return.

The owner is really caring, patient, diligent, and willing to negotiate. The pool was very cold, though maybe that's because the bubbly hot tub was so nice.
