Econo Lodge Downtown

I've stayed here several times before, but this visit wasn't enjoyable. I think the front desk woman was new, and I believe her name was Brandy. She was curt and didn't smile, and made me feel unwelcome. The room, on the other hand, was extremely clean, and the new bedspread was lovely. The breakfast attendant was very sweet. They had strawberries for the waffles and whipped cream, and when I mentioned I wished there were orange juice, she even went out and bought some.

The staff were very hospitable, and the price was hard to beat. This was the most affordable place in town over Labor Day Weekend. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable, and the stay included a continental breakfast with waffles. I was really impressed.

The front desk staff were very friendly, and the location made it easy to walk or drive to whatever I needed. The bed and TV were fine, but the bathroom light was burned out and the toilet didn't work properly. The AC was off when I arrived, so after working all day in 98° weather, opening the door felt like walking into a sauna. There are better places to stay.

We left feeling disgusted, exhausted, and out the money we could've spent somewhere better. We came for a baseball tournament and only stayed here because everywhere else was fully booked. They'd charged us $95 but had lost our reservation, and we got a room only because another guest had just canceled. The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but smelled strongly as if someone had smoked in it for years. The sheets and towels were filthy, with spots that looked like pee and who knows what else. Breakfast was gross too, like someone had had a food fight: syrup and batter across the counters and cabinets, food left open and sitting out. When we tried to check out, we waited 20 minutes for an employee, but nobody appeared at the desk. We left our room keys there and went. It also seemed like many guests were residents who stayed up partying at all hours. This place is a joke and should be avoided.
