Mountain Creek Resort

The room was huge, almost like an apartment, with a living room and balcony where I could relax and cook. Parking felt easy and secure, and the views were lovely. The pool looked great, though I didn't get a chance to use it. Our host was genuinely kind. I accidentally left my jewelry bag behind, and they're shipping it back to me. I couldn't ask for nicer people, and I'd happily stay here again. Ask for unit 240. We also had a great experience overall. If you're nearby, check out the Landmark Inn Restaurant in Warwick, the food is wonderful.

The mountain conditions were awful when I came for twilight skiing on March 9. The trails were wet, the snow was melting, there were pools of water, and nothing had been groomed. They shouldn't have been open. When I asked for a refund, I was told the website had mentioned spring-like conditions, but it didn't describe conditions this bad. Their strict no-refund policy seems like a way to make money from people. It's not worth arguing, and I already know what their customer service is like. Horrible. Don't be fooled by the pretty hotel photos on the website.

My first zip tour was at Mountain Creek, and I'm so glad it was. Rilee, Jess, Monica, and Max made sure we felt safe and comfortable, while keeping things lively and having fun with us. The views over the nearby towns and waterways were breathtaking.

I had a good time at the Biergarten bar and snack stand on the deck after skiing, enjoying a beer and sunset before the downhill walk back to the lot. The food at the lodge is resort-priced, as usual, but $5 for a small, terrible coffee is ridiculous. I bring snacks and leave water in my locker. I like long cruising runs and found the green trails fun, with enough turns and drops that I never bothered trying the blues. My daughter tried a blue and said it just had more vertical drop. This was my first time at Mt. Creek, and some things work differently. The main lifts are standing bucket gondolas, so you hold your skis or board on the ride up. I actually liked not having my skis run over in the lift line, but be ready to stand in ski boots and buckle up at the top, where there aren't many benches. The lines were well managed and loading was decent. The closest lot fills fast. From the secondary lot, it's a long walk across a road, uphill and over a bridge, with no shuttle. If you're carrying a lot of gear, consider unloading at the drop-off and follow the “If you love it, lock it” signs. Guest relations staff there can sign you in and issue a lift pass if you bought it online or through Groupon. The locker room gets hectic but is manageable. It's below the base camp, so there's a flight of stairs up to the lifts.
