Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Victorville

We couldn’t find any of the luggage carts because other guests had taken them to their rooms and not brought them back. When we asked the front desk clerk to help locate one, they didn’t seem interested in sorting it out. I’m also still waiting for the $100 security deposit to come back to my bank account and would like an update on when it will be refunded. We had a one-night reservation for two adults in Room 124 at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Victorville in Victorville, California. My mother uses a walker, and the layout made it extremely difficult for her to get around. The TV stand blocked the main path, making it hard and unsafe for her to move through the room. The windows wouldn’t open for ventilation, so the room felt stuffy. Cleanliness was unacceptable too: there was visible dog hair and human hair on the room floor, suggesting it hadn’t been properly cleaned before we arrived, and the hallway floors were dirty. Given the accessibility problems, poor cleaning, and lack of help from staff, I’d appreciate a response and an explanation of how these issues will be addressed. Thank you for looking into this. This hotel is our usual overnight stop when we drive from Las Vegas to Southern California. It’s within walking distance of several restaurants, and Wal-Mart is an easy walk away too. The rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable, and the staff are great. Nice hotel.

EV chargers aren’t on the property, though there are some close by. I stayed Monday night and had a good experience. The room was dated but clean, breakfast was good, and both the front desk and breakfast staff were great. There are lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance, and the hotel has all the basic amenities. I’ll have to try one in Vegas before I become a club member.

I stayed two nights in two different rooms. Both beds were comfortable, but neither sleeper sofa even had a sheet, and the one in the second room was unbelievably uncomfortable. The first room was on the ground floor. Its AC vent was completely missing the part that directs airflow, and with the AC off the room got uncomfortably warm and humid. It took about an hour to cool it down and air it out. At least the windows opened, but the screens looked like they’d been removed at some point and were all bent. The pool was dirty, with all kinds of things floating in it. It was behind a fairly short brick wall and looked like local homeless people might use it to bathe. Staff were pleasant and helpful within what they were allowed to do. My issue is how long they hold the deposit, which isn’t the fault of the customer-facing employees. Breakfast wasn’t satisfactory either: the potatoes were stale, and the sausage had been reheated several times. They don’t take cash, and they hold your deposit for a week after checkout. The hotel is conveniently located in the major shopping center just off the 15 freeway. I’ve stayed at similar places nearby for about the same price that were much nicer, accepted cash deposits, and returned the deposit right after checkout. I’d recommend any of the other options in town.
