The guy at the front desk was polite, but that didn’t make up for a room I could barely stand to be in. There were holes in the walls and bathroom sink, cobwebs in the corners, and some strange pink stuff dripping behind the door. In the morning, I found long hairs all over the bed that clearly weren’t mine, so the bedding didn’t seem to have been washed. The carpet looked like it had never been cleaned, and there were cigarette burns around the shower. I was too grossed out to use it. Someone downstairs played music from his car all night and into the morning, so I didn’t get any peace or rest. I stayed at the Tri City Inn in Victorville, room 212, and the online photos looked nothing like the actual place. If I hadn’t needed a room, I would’ve slept in my car. One and a half stars at best, this was easily one of the most disgusting rooms I’ve come across.
This time was pretty awful, though it usually hasn’t been that bad when I’ve stayed here. The room was kind of dirty, with what looked like pizza sauce and dirty handprints all over the walls. The floor was lumpy and coming apart, and the water pressure in both the tub and sink was a joke. We could hear the people upstairs rolling around and wrestling, too. For $130, it really wasn’t money well spent.
I wasn’t there to hang out for a few days, I just needed sleep, and that’s what I got. The room was dumpy but really clean, and I slept like a baby in the king bed. The heater worked well and it was quiet. Stores and takeout were easy to reach, and getting onto the freeway was simple. When I got into town, Priceline had messed things up and I didn’t have a room. I drove over to tri city and a nice man welcomed me happily. I was exhausted, so almost anywhere would have done. It’s a budget motel with little to offer beyond friendly service and comfort.
Nic, the night manager, was absolutely lovely. We arrived in Victorville at 10 pm on a Friday, and everywhere else was booked, so we took the last room here. It was fine for one night, with a king bed and a large TV. The picture glitched pretty often, but we fell asleep fast. The bathroom is old, and the shower head is pretty calcified, though it gave us the hottest shower we’d had in a while. The sheets had some stains, but they were clearly clean. I wouldn’t send a friend here, but it was fine as a place to rest our heads.
We were so uncomfortable that we left early. The floor felt like walking on bubble wrap, and the price for two nights was ridiculous. We paid for both nights but only stayed one. I was totally surprised by the room they gave us.
