Home2 Suites by Hilton Vidalia, GA

The room itself was spacious, clean, and nice, but the late checkout request was frustrating. We were unexpectedly out of town with little children for a funeral, and had requested the option in advance, offering to pay the extra fee. At arrival, I was told to ask the manager before 9 a.m. I did, and she declined, saying the hotel was full. Yet the website showed the same room available to reserve that day. It felt inconsiderate, especially since we'd raised the request ahead of time.

Unfortunately I have to stay here for work, and the rooms are dirty nearly every week I'm there. The toilets, shower, and countertops are consistently unclean. If you can, I'd recommend the Home2 in Dublin, GA. It's clean and the staff are friendly.

The room was comfortable and clean, but management wouldn't give me until noon to check out, even though I asked the evening before and again that morning. The usual checkout was 11 AM. The front desk blamed it on the maid being too busy, but I checked the floor at 11 and didn't see any maids working in the rooms there. It came across as staff being too lazy to help a Silver Level customer. This is why I prefer Marriott to Hilton.

I called to ask what the pet rate was since I was going to the area to shoot a wedding. When I said I'd already booked, the woman sounded confused, told me the rate, then hung up right away. I canceled my room.
