Motel 6 Villa Park, IL - Chicago West

At 11:30 pm I called to ask about room availability, but the person who answered, Kevin, seemed unsure. I also asked how far the hotel was from the airport, and he didn't know that either. He didn't respond politely. Why pay people who don't seem to know anything? The staff need better customer service training.

I had to call repeatedly every day before I finally reached the manager, who agreed to send my full refund. I'm glad I got my money back, but this place felt disgusting and scammy. Room 242 was crawling with roaches, coming out of the air conditioner and dead on the floor. We lasted eight minutes before going back to the front desk to ask for a refund. The woman said she'd return the cost of only two of the three nights because we'd been in the room more than ten minutes, then kicked us out of the lobby since we were no longer guests. Incredibly rude.

The bathtub was dirty and had hair in it, and during the night I switched on the light and saw a roach moving on the floor. I stayed one night. I guess I won't be back.

It felt like a motel pretending to be a psych ward, no lie. The housekeepers were wildly unprofessional and way too personal with guests. From clock-in to clock-out, they banged on walls, yelled down the hall, talked loudly outside your door, and kept knocking even when you hadn't asked for service. They dragged beds around all day, scraping the carpet. A disturbing experience. I felt like I was in a darn mental asylum. If quirky events are your thing, that's the spot for ya. Have fun.
