Comfort Inn & Suites Villa Rica

The location was good and the staff were nice, but I wouldn’t stay here again if cleanliness matters to you. My partner and I both had badly clogged sinuses, maybe from the dust or whatever was in the building. The air seemed to be off throughout the hotel except in the rooms, and there was an awful smell. It felt unclean overall, which was disappointing after reading the reviews. I understand trying to save money, but this place wasn’t worth the time. The beds were hard, and the pillows were lousy.

The room’s carpet had stains all over it, some of which looked like they might be bodily fluids. That alone made me uncomfortable. The bathroom was worse: dust caked on the vent, black mold stains, and black gunk and hair in the drain. Moisture damage was also visible across the ceiling, which made me wonder if there were ongoing water problems. Cleanliness should be a basic standard, and this room was nowhere near it. I was very disappointed with this Atlanta hotel and wouldn’t recommend it.

I couldn’t stay because the smell made it impossible to relax. The room was much worse than the rest of the hotel, with a musty, dirty odor throughout. The man at the desk offered another room, and that one smelled better, but I still couldn’t bring myself to stay. The hotel sits between two other subpar places. I wouldn’t call it run down yet, though it seems headed that way.

We left within minutes of seeing the suite and had to find another hotel. There were bugs on the bed, dirty sheets, and grime in the bathroom and on the window. We had come to visit family and booked here because there weren’t many options nearby. At the desk, we explained we weren’t staying; the representative said we might be charged for just the first night, not the full reservation, since the hotel’s condition was the reason we left. We never got our money back, which was hundreds of dollars. The manager was exceptionally rude and unprofessional, and I believe the positive reviews are fake. Several people in my family traveled into town and booked at the Comfort Inn Suites — Villa Rica, but had to find different hotels because of the condition. Avoid this place.
