Aqua Vista Resort Hotel

We stayed in a pool-view room on the 6th floor, and the beds were super soft and comfortable. The shower was fantastic, and the tile floors were nice. Staff were pleasant, and the stay at Aqua Vista was great, though the rooms were just meh. The pool was ice cold during our first week of September visit, and it stayed in full shade all day. The room lost a star for the slippery blanket that kept falling off, the AC blowing in my face while I got ready at the mirror, and the hair dryer outlet not working.

The hotel looks great and is in a prime location, which made the poor cleanliness especially disappointing after I'd read the reviews before staying. I called to ask for a manager, and the night manager said the owner or manager would call. We'll see if that happens. There wasn't a single towel, washcloth, or hand towel in our room. We called, but nobody brought them up, so we had to get them at the front desk. Later, someone left some by our door after the cleaning lady had to call for them. The patio chair had two broken back slats, so we couldn't sit in it. The office chair was filthy, with a blood stain and other nastiness. We saw a cockroach on the wall by the elevator. The light plates and door handles were so dirty that I washed them before touching them. The toilet kept running, so my husband fixed it. We tried the pool but got right back out because of green moss around the top rim.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, but I wouldn't stay here again. My sister and I came for our birthday this past week, and the rooms were outdated, with slightly dingy sheets. Our balcony chair was broken and the chair inside was so dirty we wouldn't sit in it. The headboard had come off the wall, and the stand between the beds was broken and chipped. The TV stand was chipped too. The bathroom sink was oddly outside the bathroom, on the other side of the wall. With seven floors and only one elevator, checkout was annoying. We had to wait for it to come back about five times before we could get down. My sister and her boyfriend also found two roaches in their messy room.

Don't book this room. The photos are misleading, the room was outdated, and parking was terrible. While we were out, valuable items disappeared from our room. Housekeeping were the only people with access. Our JBL speaker, cologne set, money from the nightstand, and credit and debit cards from my wallet were gone. Later, someone tried to charge my card for several things around the beach. When we reported it, staff acted like we'd simply left the items at home, even though we know they were in the room. We checked out Sunday and were told the GM would return Monday. When I spoke with the GM, it was one of the most unprofessional conversations I've ever had. They showed no regard for us saying items were missing and acted like we'd made the whole thing up. This was the worst hotel stay of my life.
