We booked two nights for the Neptune festival sand sculptures, and sitting on the balcony at sunrise was the one thing this place had going for it. I'd stayed before and found it barely acceptable, but this visit was awful. We asked for a third-floor room and got one, but its toilet wouldn't flush because the tank had no water. The ceiling light by the entrance only flickered dimly, so we moved next door. After settling in, we found the security lock on that door was broken off. The TV remote only changed channels, the fridge was packed with ice so the top shelf couldn't be used, and the ice machine in the breezeway was out of order. The clerk told us to walk to 7-Eleven for ice. The stairwell light was burned out, making it dangerous after dark, and when we returned from the boardwalk, there was no AC in the room. I called the manager and asked to check out with a refund for the second night. He refused because it was after checkout time. I would've left earlier, but the cool morning kept us from realizing the AC was out, and I'd tried to tough it out one more night. He offered us another room, possibly the one next door with the broken toilet, but we'd decided to leave even without a refund. It was that bad. Don't stay here unless all you need is a roof over your head. Horrible, and I'd give zero stars if I could.

The room was filthy, the fan was unbearably loud, and there were cockroaches. When I raised the problems, the staff, including the manager, Jimmy, said they'd refund me because they agreed the room was in bad shape. Later, they went back on that promise and refused. They also charge $15 for parking. My whole experience felt unprofessional and dishonest, and the manager was unpleasant to deal with. This was the worst hotel stay I've had. I don't recommend it, save yourself the hassle and choose somewhere else.

We switched rooms twice in the first hour because of the bathrooms. One had no lock, and the other had water leaking nonstop; the bath tub was covered in mold and spots, and the flush didn't work. We asked for a refund so we could leave, but the manager wouldn't approve it. He was rude and spoke to us as if we were doing it on purpose. The manager was also objectifying. Worst hotel I've experienced so far. Bullshit, ever!

The room felt dingy and outdated, with paper-thin walls. I could hear the neighbors' TV blasting all night. The bathroom smelled musty, and the shower pressure was a joke. At Hotel Ocean 27, even the staff made a bad stay worse: they were dismissive, cold, and unpleasant, and checking in felt like an inconvenience to them. I've never had such a miserable hotel experience. It isn't worth the money or even one star. Somehow this beachside place became a complete disaster. Stay somewhere else.

I had to change rooms, and both were disgusting, smelly, and had stuff scattered across the floor. The bathtub was clogged, and there were no curtains on the window. At 11 pm, hotel staff opened my door without knocking. This was the worst hotel I've stayed in. Pick another place for your trip, this one just leaves you feeling gross.
