Comfort Suites Beachfront

We’ve spent the last two months staying at a few Virginia Beach hotels while visiting a sick family member. This one was the nicest and friendliest, and it didn’t add stress to the trip. The views are great, and the staff were so nice. Our room was clean and comfortable. The shower leaked badly and some parts of the room had a poor renovation, which is why I gave it four stars. Still, this will be our hotel of choice from now on.

At checkout, none of the elevators worked, so everyone was squeezed into the stairway. The room itself smelled old, and the pull-out sofa mattress had rust on it. There were no sheets or blankets for the sofa, and the phones in the room didn’t work. Check-in was awful too. They wouldn’t let us see the room beforehand. I’d never recommend this hotel. You don’t get what you pay for.

Our beachfront room was clean, spacious, and had an amazing view. The only location drawback was how much street noise carried into the bedroom area, though that isn’t the hotel’s fault. We enjoyed the stay enough to add an extra day. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful. Breakfast had a good selection, and my husband thought it beat the usual basic complimentary hotel spread. The chef in charge was upbeat and friendly. They struggled to keep up with the crowd and food ran out, but they kept replenishing it.
