Holiday Inn & Suites Virginia Beach North Beach by IHG

Our church group booked 11 rooms, and everything was ready at check-in and in excellent condition. The front desk staff and manager took especially good care of us and made us feel at home. We enjoyed fresh popcorn and a movie late in the evening. Breakfast was incredible, and the kids loved the pools and slides. Thanks for an amazing stay. We’ll definitely return.

The location is quiet at the end of the boardwalk, and the room was clean, especially for an older hotel. I loved the complimentary coffee and creamer in the lobby. John at the front desk gave us a warm welcome and kindly upgraded our standard room from a pool view to an ocean view. He clearly understands customer service. It’s nice to see people like this still working at hotels. We’ve had a great experience and will be back.

I came here as a child and was excited to return for a babymoon while expecting our baby. Instead, the stay was stressful, unsanitary, and far below the standard I expected from Holiday Inn. The first room had visible waste stains in the toilet and a strong bathroom odor, as if it hadn’t been cleaned properly. I reported it and appreciated being moved to another room, but then our room went two days without housekeeping. I asked the front desk for service, but nobody came. A housekeeper in the hallway later took our trash and made the bed, yet when my fiancé pulled back the sheets, there was still sand and visible staining on the bedding. The next day I asked for clean sheets so I could change them myself. I was told to wait, but they never arrived. On our final day, I found a cockroach in the room. When I checked the bed, I saw black stains in the corner under the fitted sheet that looked concerning and raised questions about the bedding’s cleanliness. I expected much better cleanliness and service, given how long I’ve stayed here. These conditions are unacceptable and don’t meet the cleanliness and quality standards I paid for. I have photos documenting them and can provide them upon request. I’m requesting appropriate compensation, including a refund or substantial credit toward a future stay.

The service and location are great, but the room was subpar. It smelled musty and was so humid when I went in that the sheets felt damp. There were pieces of popcorn ceiling on the floor, lots of carpet stains, and what looked like possible mold on the ceiling. I didn’t ask to change rooms because other guests said theirs were the same. I was disappointed, since the room I stayed in here two years ago was wonderful.
