SureStay Studio by Best Western Virginia Beach Oceanfront

My first-floor room faced the ocean, and waking up to that peaceful view felt like a luxury. I also felt very safe the whole time. What stays with me most about Sure Stay Studios, though, is the team. Nate, the manager, was present, supportive, and helpful to guests and staff, and you can feel the positive atmosphere he’s built as soon as you enter. Tree is quiet but very knowledgeable and professional, and handled my questions and requests confidently and efficiently. Onieka was like a friend throughout my stay, checking in, helping me, and making sure I was okay. She’s the best front desk lady I’ve encountered anywhere, with a kindness and care for people that can’t be taught. Two other front desk ladies whose names I wish I could remember were also helpful, friendly, and welcoming. Every interaction felt warm and genuine. Housekeeping deserves a lot of credit too: they brought fresh towels daily, took out trash, kept things spotless, and even cleaned the windows and glass, all with care, pride, and respect. This place has been much more than somewhere to sleep. I felt valued, safe, welcomed, and cared for every day. The location, rooms, and view are lovely, but the people are what turn a stay into a lasting memory. If you want somewhere clean and welcoming, with a team that truly cares, this has been one of the best stays of my life. I’m grateful to every staff member who made it so memorable.

We’ve stayed here before and would recommend SureStay beachfront in the Va Beach area. Registration was easy, and the staff were courteous and helpful. The room had the space we needed, including a kitchenette with two burners and an apartment-size fridge. There were also two large-screen TVs with cable, and stores and restaurants are close by. Waking up to the ocean view is a treat.

For a budget stay with an ocean view, I’d consider this place again because of the location and price. The room was clean, shops and restaurants were close, and Brian at the front desk was kind and welcoming. The view was lovely too. There were some drawbacks: the water pressure was poor and it took a full ten minutes for the water to heat up before a shower. Housekeepers kept coming into my room even after I repeatedly said I didn’t want it cleaned. The elevator was painfully slow, and the fridge had no freezer.

I arrived for my July 31, 2025 booking through Booking.com, reference #6469331071, for a private suite, but the property wasn’t as represented. The reception area was tucked away in a garage with poor signs, and the narrow hallways were dirty. It was noisy and hot, and the elevator was slow. The bedroom was extremely small, the bathroom was too tiny to bathe a child safely, and the supposed living room was just an old, dirty sofa in a tiled area. I contacted both the front desk and Booking.com and canceled that same day, but got no refund. Avoid this if you’re traveling with children. 1 star.
