Travelodge Virginia Beach Bay Beach

My husband and I were on our honeymoon, but the room was so filthy we ended up sleeping in the car. The place isn’t on the beach, and you can’t see the beach from it, despite how it was advertised. I have more than 25 photos showing the condition, and they still refused to refund me. They got paid either way and clearly don’t care. Very shady, absolutely disgusting.

The location was the best part, with an easy walk straight to the beach. Since we checked in early, we had to take an upstairs room, which was just average. We had to track down the attendant ourselves to get towels. We also asked for late checkout and paid the $50 fee, but they still called us at 11 a.m. to check out.

The room was dirty when we arrived. And if you saw somewhere that pets are allowed, that’s false. Don’t bring your pets, or your humans either.

We were charged almost twice what the website listed for the night. The room smelled strongly damp as soon as we opened the door, and it didn’t feel clean. There was dust everywhere, mold in the shower, stained shower walls, and dirty-looking drips on the room walls. The outlets were coming out of the wall, one nightstand was loose, and the sheets had stains while the blankets had burn holes. We ended up buying sheets, pillowcases, and a blanket to put over the bed. Honestly, the worst experience.
