Cerca Del Mar Motel

It's a cheaper place right by the beach, so I went in expecting some rough edges and didn't hate my stay. The room was clean but very dated. I found one roach when I arrived, then didn't see any more during my four days there. The pool was nice, and the elevator worked, though it was painfully slow. Don't expect luxury and your basic needs should be covered. I was satisfied enough that I'd book again. It's about two blocks from the beach and within walking distance of a lot of places.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable, and the price was low compared with other nearby hotels. The beach is an easy walk away. I've stayed in worse places, but the years of wear are obvious and the hotel really needs renovation, even if the rooms aren't literally falling apart. The mini-kitchen was advertised as a selling point, yet there wasn't any cookware or eating gear to use with it.

If you're hoping to save money and spend most of your trip out and about, this place will do. It's inexpensive and technically has the basics, but you get what you pay for. The rooms are clean and poorly maintained. There's a kitchenette without supplies, and the central AC leaves the room at uneven temperatures.

Edit: Roaches are everywhere. I'm disgusted and don't even want to go into the room. I've watched them crawl up the walls and into the outlets all evening, and I'm probably going to sleep in my friend's car. The fridge never got cold, the pressure in the disgusting tub was awful, and the shower looked revolting. We saw a roach as soon as we arrived. The room and fridge were hot, the sheets were stained all over, and the shower looked repulsive. Don't come here.
