This old house has a cozy, timeless feel, and the spacious rooms have been thoughtfully updated while keeping their historic character. It was once a public house dating to 1790, and after changing hands, it reopened as a restaurant in the 1940s. Over generations, The Century House has seen plenty of stories, heartfelt "I do's," and lasting memories. There are thoughtful homey touches during the year: complimentary soup of the day in winter, and warm brownies and cookies in spring and summer. Breakfast is included too, with a satisfying, homestyle start to the day. From the quiet surroundings at the driveway to the charm inside, it's a place that makes you slow down and unwind. The stay lingers with you after checkout, and if you're lucky enough to get a room, leaving is the hardest part.

Debbie is the best! The building is beautiful, and there's free soup in the lobby every day, but the warm, wonderful staff made my one-week stay spectacular. When my laptop charger broke, Debbie at the front desk gave me one. She helped me get a late breakfast and, I kid you not, picked me up from surgery after work when I couldn't drive alone. 11/10 service.

We were in NY for IVF treatment, so the peaceful, quiet setting meant a lot to my fiance and me. The staff were friendly, attentive, and accommodating in every way. We asked for a certain type of tea, and it was stocked the next day. Our room was delightful, clean, and well furnished, with a mix of classic and modern touches. Breakfast was amazing, more than the usual continental spread, with an actual chef on duty. We had a very accommodating stay and will book again on our next trip to NY. I'd highly recommend the Century House for IVF travel or any other reason.

Debbie at the desk fixed the reservation after Booking.com messed it up, and found us a room at a better price. The building looks wonderfully old and was clean, with all the perks, including complimentary Manhatten Clam Chowder at the front desk. The food was awesome and the service was great, though sadly the restaurant is closing and being replaced with apartments. If you're here in the next few weeks, go up and try it. There was plenty of food for a great price.

They welcomed our 65-pound dog, and we got complimentary soup at 4 p.m. followed by breakfast the next morning. The room was very clean, and the staff were really friendly.
