Silverland Inn and Suites

We won't stay here again or recommend it to anyone, including friends who planned to visit in a few weeks. When we booked months earlier, we were told there'd be a restaurant and breakfast, but on arrival we learned neither was available. There was no refrigerator or microwave, either, basic things we'd expect at a motel. The room had just two coat hangers and no storage or counter space. The hair dryer didn't work, though the front desk replaced it. The carpets were stained, and the plumbing was troublesome: water drained slowly from both the basin and toilet.

Everything else about the stay was great, but I docked stars because there wasn't a coffee maker in the room. We were told coffee would be ready by 7 a.m. near the lobby. Since we're early risers and like to get on the road, the 7:15 lobby opening was already late. Then we were told the coffee wasn't made yet and would take another 10-15 minutes.

We held an event at the Silverland and were very happy with how it went. The staff were attentive and amazing. I didn't stay overnight, but from that experience I'd recommend visitors to Virginia City check out the Silverland Inn. It's near town, quiet, and safe.

The employees were extremely helpful and nice, and the inn is conveniently near the center of town. The rooms are spacious, but the furniture was dusty and there were none of the usual basics: no mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, or clock. Google still lists a pool, but it was removed 20 months ago and a restaurant was put there instead. I have trouble with stairs and was assigned a second-floor room. The notice by the elevator, shown in the attached picture, didn't give me much confidence. For the high price, this room wasn't worth it. If you're after an overpriced Motel 6, this is the place.
