Comfort Inn and Suites Mt Laurel Cherry Hill

I wouldn't recommend this place or stay again. I booked it because I'd been reasonably happy with the Chester location, but this one was a big step down. There was no clean water for about half a day, and I couldn't use the pool, which was the reason I chose this hotel. Breakfast was poor, with no drinks besides hot water, and signs warning that taking food to your room would incur a fee. The staff were okay, but even when I asked for garbage bags, they wanted my room number. It made me feel unwelcome and weird. The first room was filthy, with a door that wouldn't lock properly and furniture that was torn, broken, and stained. The replacement was a little better, but the bathroom hadn't been wiped down, and there was a plate with pizza in the fridge. We only found it when we went to put our things away. Pretty disgusting.

The smells hit as soon as I walked in. There was a breath well sticker on the front door, curry smell from the lobby where the owners live and eat, something strange in the elevators, and a different odd smell on every floor. One comforter had two blood spots. The fridge was switched off and didn't work, so they had to replace it. Yellow slippery-floor cones were all over the main floor. The paint job looked like the owners did it without their glasses on. The exercise room had four pieces of junk equipment, and I usually use a treadmill, but not that one. There was no body gel in the shower. It's a Choice Hotel, and we only end up at places like this when a hockey stay-to-play arrangement forces us. This one was horrible. I'll never stay here again, even if it's required. Stay away.

The breakfast was disappointing, with very few choices compared with other Comfort Inn Suites, and it didn't taste good. There were also large signs throughout the breakfast area saying food couldn't be taken back to your room. I've never seen a hotel explicitly forbid that before. A hotel should feel welcoming, but here it felt like they were just putting up with us. Our room had some minor damage to the doors and walls, and the bathroom seemed like it hadn't been maintained in a long time. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The building smelled strongly of weed all day and night, and the pool was cloudy, apparently from being overbleached to keep it clean. There were very loud parties past 2 a.m.; management did nothing, and the rooms aren't soundproof at all. I wouldn't recommend it for a family. It wasn't exactly dirty, but not much effort went into cleaning the rooms. They kept a damage deposit, yet there were existing damages in our room, which made me wonder what the deposit was for if they weren't going to fix them. We paid over $200 for one night and could've had a better stay at a $50-a-night cheap motel in the ghetto. I was very dissatisfied. Unless you get a deal, or you're just there to party for a night or two, go somewhere else.
