The room was clean, the AC worked great, and the linens and towels were fresh and nice. It also had an ironing board and iron, a hair dryer, an ice maker on each floor, and a ceiling fan. I’d stay again. Parking is free and on site, and the location is hard to beat for walking to the Silos, restaurants, and bars. Don’t arrive too early. The desk was unattended for several hours. We parked and emailed them so our car wouldn’t get towed, then went next door to the brewery for a couple of amazing beers and a great charcuterie board. The room is meant to have a Czech theme, but that didn’t come through. The furniture felt out of place, and besides a couple of throws, there was no Czech decor. I wasn’t impressed with that.

The bath was awesome, relaxing and soothing, and left my skin silky smooth, so I didn’t need to shower afterward. My wife and I came for the beer bath experience and loved it. The beer was excellent. We arrived early on a Wednesday, when the restaurant wasn’t open, so the only option was a can of beer brewed at the Pivovar brewery. If you want a flight and charcuterie, you need to visit when the restaurant is open.

The front desk women were sweet and friendly, and the rooms were clean and really nice. The beds are a little hard, and there aren’t extra blankets in the rooms. They don’t serve breakfast, though there is a restaurant. Being next to the Silos meant we didn’t have to worry about parking, and there are several good places to eat within walking distance. I’d definitely stay again if I come back to Waco.

We loved the old world charm, with large rooms and lots of wood. This isn’t the hotel for someone looking for a contemporary style. The restaurant was fantastic, and we loved the schnitzel. Our waitress Angelina was a genuine love, happy, attentive, and just plain cute. It was our anniversary, and everyone from the hostess to the waiters greeted us with “Happy Anniversary” as soon as we walked in.

The staff were welcoming, and I liked that the beer felt right for a Czech place. The hotel itself is attractive, and the room seemed in line with what I'd expect from an upscale Waco stay. But the price was higher than nearby options, and the experience left me disappointed. I came hoping to sleep before driving north. The fridge made a low, powerful noise that shook things in the bathroom. I only noticed it around 3 or 4 a.m., after it had kept me awake, and heard it again down the hall as I left. It might be easy to miss, so I could have let that go. But after I told reception about it and checked out with nothing taken from the room, I still got a roughly $4 charge for gum. I don't chew gum, and I was alone in the room. The place could be lovely, but it feels like the owners may be relying on its reputation while letting guest-reported problems slide. With the noise and the charge together, I won't return. Texas has deep Czech roots, and this hotel could honor that history better than it does now.
