Springhill Suites by Marriott Waco

Melanie in the office was great to work with, and the two women serving breakfast were so kind. I was there at nine months pregnant with my two little kids, and they helped the children with their plates and cleaned up after them. We came a couple of weeks ago for two Baylor events. It was an easy walk to the new basketball arena and a simple drive across 35 to campus. We’ll definitely be back.

The free EV charger was the best part of our stay, and the place is handy if you're attending events at Baylor. We stayed the night of December 28. The room was clean, but the layout felt characterless despite the attempt at a modern look. With the frosted bathroom door right at the foot of the bed, turning on the bathroom light made it bright for anyone still sleeping. The mirror lighting, meanwhile, was too dim for shaving or makeup. The bathroom outlet blew, there weren't other plugs near a mirror for a hair dryer, and the sink drained very slowly. There also wasn't much good restaurant food within walking distance. We weren't in town for Baylor.

Getting to Baylor's campus was convenient, and the rooms were spacious and very clean. The beds were really comfortable, and the facility looked well maintained. I did get a room by the elevators facing the freeway, though, and the road noise was pretty loud. More soundproofing would have helped.

After a long day of travel, I wanted a welcoming, attentive start to my stay. Instead, the staff came across as rude and indifferent, and the experience felt uncomfortable right away. They didn’t seem eager to help, and their dismissive attitude made the place feel far from hospitable.
