Hilton Garden Inn St. Cloud

The rooms were clean and nice, and the staff were friendly. Hampton Inn’s digital key was super convenient, letting me pick a room on my phone. There’s a restaurant attached, plus Taco Bell and Burger Time nearby, though there aren’t many walkable food options. We wanted something quick to grab on the way out, so a continental breakfast would’ve been nice, even just fruit. There wasn’t one included. The bathroom door is a fancy barn-door style, which is an interesting choice. Still, it was a pleasant stay.

The staff and rooms are nice, but the walls are so thin I could hear the whole conversation next door. The neighbors weren’t even especially loud. There’s clearly very little soundproofing, and it feels like you’re sharing a room with strangers. Really disappointing, and it seems like poor planning.

This was my second stay, and it remains a solid Hilton option for the area. I was there for two nights. It seemed busier this time, maybe because a conference or something was going on. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. My mini fridge didn’t work, but that wasn’t a deal breaker. Doors from nearby rooms close pretty loudly, though switching my AC fan from auto helped cover the noise overnight. The gym is a decent size, with a treadmill, elliptical, bike, and free weights. Thanks, HGI St Cloud, for a pleasant two-night stay.

They discriminate against large-breed dogs! Take photos of everything before and after check-in. They’ll make up damage and charge you for it. I wish I’d photographed the door seal at the bottom. If it was metal, how did my dogs remove it without getting hurt? No cuts, no blood, no whining, but somehow they still supposedly removed it. When I tried to talk to Alex, he just replied that I’d signed a waiver, presumably about damage my dogs might cause. I’d also point out that the marks look like they came from a wheeled luggage rack. Perfectly horizontal marks two inches off the ground don’t look like dog damage. Very disappointed.
