Super 8 by Wyndham Waldorf

The location is great, but the hotel itself doesn't reflect the surrounding community. I wouldn't suggest bringing your family, though it could work if there are no other places available. I stayed here years ago, and it still looks much the same. The halls aren't well lit and don't smell inviting. I wish the operators, whether corporate or franchise, would put some of what they've made back into the property. I debated posting this because I didn't pay for a room myself, I was visiting someone there, and I was shocked there had been no change after all these years.

The man in the lobby was nice to me, but the rooms were horrible. There were dirty floors, socks left by the previous guest, and unwanted items in the drawers, including a fire alarm and a phone. The walls had holes, the sink cabinet was rotten, and there was a dip in the floor. The sink was clogged with hair, trash was behind the refrigerator, and bugs had been squashed on the wall. The bathroom door didn't work and was covered in who knows what. The air conditioner was dirty, the TV remote barely worked, and the mattress and body towels were dirty. A mouse was living with us on the last night. The reservation said breakfast was included, but it wasn't.

I slept well and felt safe, although there wasn't a sprinkler. The room was clean, but the odor was only near the door when I entered room #202. The fridge didn't work, so I filled a bag with ice to keep my drinks cold for the next day. The A/C had a remote. I didn't use the TV or microwave. I believe the sheets and towels were clean, but they looked dingy, the fitted sheet had a cigarette-size hole, and the towels were different shades of white. The chair looked very dingy too, and that along with the sheets cost a star. There was no bar soap, though shower gel and two lotions were provided. The faucet was nice, but cold water pressure was extremely low. The tub had a few blemishes. Breakfast was advertised but wasn't available.

We had four people and booked two rooms, but one reservation was canceled because of a bathroom leak and overbooking. We stayed anyway, and the room was disgusting. Bed bugs were moving under the sheets, there was hair in the bed, and the walls had holes. The emergency exit door had no doorknob, so anyone could come through. The night shift employee was completely rude and told us, “Fill out a survey, you'll be fine!” We didn't stay. I'd upload pictures and rate this place zero if I could.
