The room was very spacious, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the air felt great. Pre-check-in helped make arrival quick and easy. Just be sure the card on your reservation matches the one used for pre-check-in, or you might get charged twice. That happened to me, but the staff reversed the extra charge quickly and I got my money back right away. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. The checkout choices were convenient: I could pick a time, request a late checkout, or tip staff online. Breakfast was a decent classic American spread with eggs, sausage, French toast, yogurt, oatmeal, instant grits, and more. It worked for my two-day visit, though it might get repetitive on a longer stay. I liked having a smart TV, but its internet connection paused or disconnected now and then. My partner and I ended up with more time to connect, so we didn't mind much. A few towels were clean but had light stains or hair, and a small crack in the sink caused a leak. We had enough towels to deal with it. The Dove products in the bathroom were a nice touch. The Wingate is conveniently located, with a restaurant next door and shops across the street, whether you're driving or using ride-share. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it for short trips. A few improvements could make it a five-star experience.

We read the reviews before arriving and figured it couldn't be that bad. The moment we opened the room door, there was a cockroach on the wall. The hotel smelled like weed, if you know what I mean, and the floor under the A/C unit was rotten. The front desk attendant was hospitable and gave us a refund, which was the only upside. We should have listened to the other reviews.

The lounge furniture is worn out, and the carpet is filthy throughout the hotel. For $500+, I ended up in a place that looked like a run-down apartment in the Bronx. I used to think this hotel was up to par. What happened? Does Wyndham not care anymore? I’ll stick with Hilton and Marriot Bonvoy’s finest. There was only one housekeeper working, so rooms were delayed. In room 210, the white shade was broken. I had to move the wooden bench to the window and roll the shade up by hand so the room wouldn’t be completely dark. The shower had mildew, and its head was coated with lime, rust, and mildew. I went to Walmart to buy CLR for it. The shower door wouldn’t close.

I asked to change rooms because the people across the hall were making too much noise. The guy at the desk said there was nothing he could do, even though two other floors had vacancies. There’s always an issue with him. The rooms are another story. If you don’t want a bad experience, don’t come here.
