The pool area was disgusting, with wadded-up wet paper towels and who knows what on them. The staff weren’t very kind either. Maybe they were overwhelmed because some guests clearly leave a mess in the restroom, pool, and other public areas, but that wasn’t my fault. I should’ve been able to report problems and feel comfortable, and then see something done. We had a string of issues during our weekend stay. The toilet wouldn’t flush. I reported it and was told a maintenance man would check it, but he never did. He was far from professional, and we had to buy a plunger and use it every time we flushed. We also found a bloody bandage under the bed blanket. All we heard was that management would be informed. Nobody followed up. I emailed the location’s corporate office and never got a reply. I travel a lot and won’t be back.

The rooms were very nice and clean, the recently renovated pool was kept at a good temperature, and the staff were very nice. A noon checkout is great, that extra hour really helps. I called days ahead to ask if I could check in one or two hours early to use the pool. They said there wouldn’t be a problem, but didn’t mention the $25 early check-in fee.

I had a great getaway and I’ll see you next weekend or the week after. The staff were great, and the location is amazing, a little hidden, which I liked. The room smelled amazing when I walked in. I had a spacious room with a king bed, and the TVs were premium and ready for Netflix or YouTube. I also assume the TV had a personal message for guests.

We arrived without a reservation at 1 am, driving from Chicago to Traverse city, and getting a two-bed room was no problem. The front desk woman looked like a star, well-groomed, smiley, and very polite. The cozy, clean lobby has a microwave if you need one. Our room had a mini fridge, towels and soaps, a new shower, comfortable beds, and nothing was broken. Checkout is at 11 am, and breakfast runs from 6 to 10. We paid $74 for the night using the Hilton rewards program. They also take a $25 safety deposit and return it after checkout. Without rewards, it would have been $84. Breakfast was typical hotel fare, cereal, bagels and muffins, with boiled eggs, coffee, tea, milk, oat milk, and juice. If you have dietary preferences, bring your own food. I’m not sure why people leave negative reviews. Don’t complain, enjoy your stay. They try hard to make you comfortable and keep you safe. Love your life! ❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹
