The staff were really friendly, and the rooms were clean. There's a convenience store and fast food within walking distance.

The manager was the best part, along with being close to the university. We were in town for one night for a family member's graduation from PVAM the next morning, and thankfully the manager gave us his only room for the same price I'd paid through Travelocity. I use “room” loosely, though. If all you need is a clean bed and a shower for the night, it'll do. Don't expect much beyond that. I booked this off-highway motel through Travelocity and arrived at 11 p.m. to find there was no reservation. Travelocity had contacted the motel the day before at 10 a.m. to cancel my booking, but kept telling both me and the manager that it was still reserved. My complaints are with Travelocity, its description of the property, and its customer service.

The inside was clean and seemed recently renovated, and we slept comfortably in a quiet room where we felt safe. Housekeeping brought fresh towels but didn't make the bed or replace the toiletries. That was a little odd, though the front desk was happy to give me shampoo and conditioner. We picked the hotel because it's about 30 minutes from the Texas Renaissance Festival. The outside could use some care and a fresh coat of paint.

Both rooms we tried, 202 and 206, were dangerously cold. The heaters didn't work, and the doors wouldn't close properly, so cold air kept coming in. We had lost water and power at home during the freeze and came here with my newborn, but we couldn't stay. We left within 45 minutes. They won't refund us, saying we could have asked for a space heater. We had no idea they had any available. If they knew the heaters were broken, they should have told us that was an option. This place was awful. For the same price, the hotel across the street is much nicer. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.
