Hilton Garden Inn Walnut Creek

The rooms were fine, but we left hungry after discovering in the morning that breakfast wasn’t free, despite what the website said. There was no free Wi-Fi either. When we tried to check out, nobody was at the counter. Pretty disappointing.

I spent eight days and seven nights here, and the rooms looked just like the pictures. Staff were nice, and I really appreciated getting fresh towels every day. My only concern was the notice saying the doors lock after midnight for safety. On several nights I returned around 1 or 2 a.m. and found the doors unlocked, so I could walk right in and take the elevator. They may want to be more consistent about locking up. Other than that, no complaints, and I’d recommend it.

We had a very enjoyable four-night stay last week. The room was spotless, and housekeeping worked carefully to keep it that way. We had great breakfasts every morning, and one evening we stayed in and enjoyed a nice dinner in the dining room. I’d highly recommend the hotel and plan to return.

The gym was a highlight: new Matrix equipment in good working order, including three treadmills, two ellipticals, a Peloton, rower, cable machine with attachments, dumbbells up to 50 lbs, and a bench. There were also towels, a water dispenser, BOSU and yoga balls, foam roller, and kettlebells. The staff at the front desk were friendly and greeted people coming and going. The hotel is new, clean, well located, and has comfortable beds. The shower had good pressure but took about a minute to warm up. In-room coffee was good, and coffee and hot water were available in the lobby in the mornings. There’s a Starbucks about a four-minute drive away. Would recommend!
