The Dwell House

The yard has an apple orchard! My husband and I had a small elopement here in August, and it was perfect. This is a beautiful place for a gathering. The photos don't really show the layout, so I tried to take some myself and included wedding pictures in case you're interested in getting married here too.

The house was immaculate, with architecture that would be a dream for anyone who loves it. It has huge windows on every floor, three balconies besides the roof, a striking three-story spiral staircase, alternative seating and lighting, and a large heated fireplace. The rooftop lookout and hot tub fit four, with twinkle lights all around for ambiance. The master bedroom has a dual showerhead. There are so many picturesque spots here it should be a crime. We planned one night at the Dwellhouse and another at the Arrow, but I couldn't bring myself to leave on the second day, so we upgraded and stayed again. It's in the middle of an orchard. The snow was beautiful, but I'd love to return in summer or fall when there are fresh apples, or see the orchard in full bloom. One of the most serene experiences I've ever had.

A quiet little nature getaway for a couple of days. We stayed in a standalone container-style place perched on a wooded hillside, with lovely views over rolling Amish farmland in early spring and late fall. Everything was great.

I only gave it two stars because the place itself is lovely. They canceled my two-night stay without any warning, even though we'd already talked about my plans to hold an event there. The email just said the property had suddenly closed. I've called, but there's no voicemail, and my emails and Airbnb messages have gone unanswered. I know things can be unpredictable with covid, but people still need notice when they have a business to run.
