The location is hard to beat, tucked between Central Park and Times Square with plenty of good food nearby. The Grisly Pear bar next door is great, and there are subway stations a couple of blocks away. Most tourist spots are walkable. We stayed five nights in a corner room on the 18th floor. It was a nice size, spotless, comfortable, and quiet, with comfy beds and pillows, useful heating in the cold weather, and a nice bathroom. Reception helped with requests and the cleaners did a great job. The one room drawback was the sliding bathroom doors, which offered almost no privacy for a double room. The elevators were dreadful. There are three, but waits felt endless even outside busy hours, and other guests mentioned it too. Sometimes it seemed like none were moving. The hotel was a dream otherwise, and I'd stay here again if I get the chance. One other downside: the bathroom doors really were awful.
The elevator problem was the main drawback. When we arrived, only one of the three lifts was working, and the wait reached 15 minutes. Once, we took the stairs down from the 17th floor. The hotel tried to make the delays easier with free water and KitKat bars, plus a New York trivia quiz in the lobby where guests could win gift cards. A thoughtful way to handle the hassle. The Midtown Manhattan location is excellent value. Times Square and Central Park are both a 4-5 minute walk away, and public transit made it easy to reach Broadway and explore on foot. The front desk was efficient and professional. Our room was more spacious than expected for NYC, comfortable, and quiet even though it was near the elevators. A well-located choice with staff who handled a snag creatively.
I’m in New York City almost every week and could stay anywhere, but I keep choosing this hotel because they treat me like royalty. The staff are wonderful and so accommodating, especially Destinee and Gabriella at the front desk. It’s on a quiet street a couple of blocks from Times Square, close enough to get there in minutes. There’s also cheap parking right across the street, which is really convenient. I’m nobody special, lol.
We spent six nights here, and the room on the 31st floor was clean, warm, very quiet, and had great views. The location was perfect, with plenty of food options, the subway, and Times Square a short walk away. Adrian in the lobby was welcoming and attentive, and they gave me a late checkout without any trouble when I asked. We'd happily return. Be aware they charge a $100-per-night deposit at check-in. I don't know if that's normal in NYC, but I wasn't expecting it and found it excessive.
This was a very enjoyable four-night stay, and the location is superb: under ten minutes on foot to both Times Square and Columbus Circle. Breakfast at the restaurant next door was very good. There's some normal wear in this busy New York hotel, but nothing that took away from the stay, especially at this price. My room was compact but laid out well, with a comfortable king bed. Though it faced the street, it was remarkably quiet and I slept extremely well. I heard lifts can get busy, but never had to queue or wait long. The service stood out throughout. Destinee gave a warm welcome to everyone at check-in, and Kierra and Sylvia on the front desk were excellent. Vivienne in housekeeping was a star, checking on me, keeping me supplied with towels, and making sure I had what I needed. Great service and value. I'd challenge anyone to find a better-located hotel for a better advance booking price.
