The king bed had clean bedding, though there were only two small pillows. The air conditioner worked great. There were also some odd unlocked doors in the room, the light over the sink wouldn’t turn on, there was mold above the shower, heavy carpet stains, and paint literally coming off the walls. And what is that box thing? We were the only people there and tried to check in at 10:20pm, but nobody was at the desk. They said they’d come after we called, then took about 20 more minutes to show up. Communication was difficult because the person barely spoke English. With the creepy-crawly worries, the place felt scary and wasn’t worth the price. It could be nice with some major TLC.

We barely lasted 45 minutes before leaving. After calling the front desk, they came over, saw the floor stains, and gave us a key to the room next door. It was a little better, but still bad, and the smell stayed on my clothes. We felt uncomfortable and a bit sick. Pulling off the highway, the place looked closed except for a flickering light, and the locked office had a phone number posted on the door. The gentleman who answered just said “ok,” and the whole place had a strange, shady vibe. In our first room, we found peeling wallpaper, stains on the floor and sheets, and a really unsettling smell of vomit. It seemed worse the longer we stayed. This place’s best days are decades behind it. If creepy, possibly haunted motels with cheap rates are your thing, go ahead and be their guests.

We checked out just 18 minutes after arriving and lost $140 for two rooms. The Google photos made it look like the rooms had been remodeled, but there were chunks missing from the carpet and stains on the carpet, curtains, walls, and bedding. The wallpaper and drywall showed water damage, with serious peeling and bubbling. No other hotels were available, so we both chose to sleep in the truck rather than risk whatever diseases this place might have. I’d give zero stars if I could.

When my ex put me in the hospital and we lost everything that night, we needed somewhere to stay, and the staff were there for us. They were kind, caring, helpful, and supportive at a time when we desperately needed it. Their care felt like being part of a family, something I wish the mainstream hotels around now could understand. To us, this is a five-star hotel and the first real step toward the new life we wanted and needed. Thank you for keeping us safe as we started over. It means the world, and you deserve to know that.
