Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside

It's a quiet, nice resort, and the beds were comfortable. The rooms are on the small side, though, and squeezing four people in was tight since we only slept there. The place is huge, so finding our room was hard, especially after dark. Front desk staff were nice, but the rest of the staff were only okay. Nobody else spoke to us, and when someone did, they weren't friendly. The food was pretty good. Everything was fine overall.

For our 25th wedding anniversary, we stayed in the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside, and the setting was beautiful. The themed details felt charming and special without going overboard, just right for celebrating. After long days in the parks, we enjoyed the peaceful feel of the resort and its lovely walking paths. Taking the boat to Disney Springs was both fun and convenient, and the buses to the parks were easy and reliable. The whole stay felt thoughtfully done, with a nice balance of Disney magic and calm comfort. We'd absolutely come back and recommend it for an anniversary or another special occasion.

The room surprised me with how spacious it was, and it worked well for us and our two kids. Our five-year-old wasn't keen on the fold-down cot, but we had two queen beds and a crib, so she was happy to use the second queen. I also liked that Port Orleans didn't feel as spread out as Art of Animation. The ferry to Disney Springs was easy to catch, with a really convenient schedule, and the front desk was helpful. The cafeteria was great for refilling water bottles the night before or in the morning. I'm usually an Airbnb fan for park trips because I like having a kitchen and not sharing a room with our two very young kids. We stayed with friends at Art of Animation a year ago, and that room was tiny, everything felt far away, and the setup wasn't convenient. Port Orleans was okay, but our room hadn't been serviced well. There were leftovers, milk, and juice in the fridge when we arrived.

The landscaped gardens around the two-story accommodation blocks were gorgeous, and a river runs through the beautiful grounds. We had a fabulous six-night stay, with a big room containing two queen beds, a nice bathroom, a safe, a fridge, a TV, and more. The food court was handy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with plenty of choices. Refillable mugs offered unlimited hot and cold drinks there and at other resort hotels. A bus depot outside provided regular, free transport to all the theme parks. It's a lovely quiet break from the busy parks, and I'd highly recommend the resort.
