Extended Stay America Suites Boston Waltham 32 4th Ave

The fire alarm went off frequently, including at 4:45 a.m. when we had to evacuate until the fire department came to shut it off, then again at 10 that night. The fire department said this is an ongoing issue at this location, not a one-time problem. Be ready for a restless stay. I’m here on a 13-week contract, and after asking for three days in a row to have my room turned over, nothing happened. I was told service is every two weeks, which already isn’t enough, but even that schedule wasn’t followed. I contacted the front desk several times, and they kept adding notes to my account without getting it done. One person said she would come do it, but never did. They wouldn’t give me manager contact information and only offered to add another note until I pushed for something to be done. It’s ridiculous how hard it is to get the basic service I’m paying for.

Our group housed three unhoused, pretty well-behaved young people for well over a month at the Waltham 32 4th ave location. The rooms were absolutely clean and comfortably appointed, and the cleaning staff were patient and kind. Almost everyone who worked there was incredibly kind and compassionate. They made the young adults feel welcome and were very accommodating. When little issues came up, like a loose house phone wire, staff took care of them right away. I don’t know everyone’s names, but Linda and Paul were wonderful, as were all their coworkers. Thank you all for your humanity while running an excellent hotel for your guests.

It’s a quiet place with good rooms and courteous staff, and it’s good for the price. There’s easy access to major highways and local roads, with good hotels and global companies nearby.

I stayed January 24-28, 2026, while some of the hotel’s deplorable rooms were being repaired, yet rooms were still being rented to the public. My room, 132, was dirty and had a dirty piece of metal pole under the bed. The refrigerator had old, broken eggs spilled in the back, the stovetop couldn’t boil water, and the hair dryer didn’t work. There were no hangers, the bathroom fan was broken, and its toilet seat was loose enough that I nearly fell off. The bedside bureau was completely broken. Pictures were missing from the wall, leaving the electrical fuse compartment covered, and the oven vent filter was filthy. The area beneath the vent had never been cleaned, and its light bulb was blown. Staff didn’t seem happy to work there. I couldn’t get clean pots and pans because staff had decided not to clean them for me. It was also extremely difficult to get a shovel to clear snow from my car, since staff hadn’t shoveled any of the parking spaces. A horrible hotel experience.
