The best surprise was finding a Costco right next door. I checked out easily on the app, and it was a great visit overall. I was up early and grabbed the free breakfast. It wasn't the best breakfast ever, but it was tasty and convenient before heading out. I was just planning to crash for one night in Boston, but prices near the city were crazy for Valentines weekend, especially with parking fees. This rate was reasonable and parking was free, so it was an easy choice. I drove to Waltham in the morning, took the train into Boston, and that worked great. After a fun day, the station was a very short drive from the hotel. The Hilton app let me check in early and choose an available room and floor. I picked the top floor and got the room I wanted. It was ready by 12:30, but I was busy in Boston and couldn't use the early check-in. When I got there, online check-in and the digital key meant I could just walk up to my room. It was clean, had lots of towels, and was just right for the night. My toothpaste was empty, and Radha (I believe that was her name) at the front desk was helpful and accommodating when I stopped by.

The room was stunning, the staff were courteous, and when I had trouble with the TV, maintenance helped right away and handled it efficiently. If you're flying through Logan, choose somewhere closer to the airport. This hotel is over 20 miles away and has no shuttle. That wasn't the hotel's or staff's fault, but Lyft cost me $45 one way after I returned the rental, then over $80 the next morning to get to the departure terminal.

I've stayed here several times for work, and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Waltham. The rooms are really comfortable and nice, and the staff are friendly and attentive. Alejandro has gone out of his way to help us and check that we were okay during snowstorms, too.

The pool was nice and good for kids. The road layout makes the hotel a little tricky to find off the highway, but it's doable. I had no issues during my stay, and even overheard a woman offer to send someone up right away when a man mentioned a shower problem. Breakfast was decent, and the cleanliness was pristine. Everything was so well maintained. Probably the cleanest hotel I've stayed in.

I won't be coming back, and I can't recommend this Hampton Inn. I followed the cancellation policy and still got charged without a refund. My reservation said I could cancel free until January 29th. I submitted the cancellation at 18:05 (6:05 PM) on January 29th, within the stated window, and have screenshots to prove it. My reason was legitimate. I was injured in Vermont and couldn't drive safely. I sent Alejandro a photo of the bruise and explained why I couldn't make the trip. I called, emailed, and formally asked to cancel on time. I did everything by the book, provided clear proof, and contacted them more than once, but was still charged and never refunded. It's incredibly frustrating to follow the policy exactly and still be penalized. Basic customer service and accountability could have resolved this, but I was left feeling ignored. If having cancellation terms honored matters to you, I'd strongly reconsider booking here.
